After Amsterdam and Rotterdam, today Jacky and me visited the third city in Holland--Utrecht. This is not a big city but it is very nice. It took us around 1 hour to go from Rotterdam to Utrecht Central station. Unlike Rotterdam, Utrecht is a historical city with a lot of rivers.
One of the most famous spot there is the Cathedral. It was a very tall building at the city centre. So you will neve get lost becasue the Cathedral is always a landmark for you to determine your position. Our next stop was the National Museum van Speelklok tot Pierement. There were vaious kinds of muscial boxes, which you can touch them and even play them. When we got there, there was a guide tour for the museum. Of course, we joined it for sure. We came across a lot of funny musical boxes.
For this one, there was a piano at the bottom. At top, there were a number of violins to help perfrom the song. Don't think it was not moving at all. We really saw it playing a song. I will share some videos with you through facebook.
This is not a rabbit. This is a rabbit music box. And the rabbit will move when music plays.
Then we went to Aboriginal Art Museum. Do you know what the name means? We didn't know so we asked the officer there. In fact, this is a museum about the culture of the original inhabitants in Australia. The native people there do not speak a language. They only inherit songs from their ancestors. By paintings, they can express their ideas. With the colonization of Australia, the culture of these inhabitants mixes up with the British. They start to use more colors in their drawings.
Finally, we went to the Het Spoorwemuseum. This is about trains. You can really get up the trains there. I think all the museums here in Utrecht are quite interesting and worth visiting. All these museums can be admitted by the museum card! So it does not cost you anything. So good.Tommorow, I am going to Den Haag. There will be the Day of Peace there.
