There is a book on each of you. It's already being written. If I
spoke to your teachers, your friends, your professionals, your
parents, I would know whether you're trusted, how hard you
work, whether you're ethical—you'd be amazed at how much I'd know without even meeting
you.
That book is already growing. Write it the way you want it to be written; don't let others write it
for you. When you're caught in situations that are uncomfortable—you can always make the
right decision. It's your responsibility whether you accept to do something or not, and it will be
in that book written on you.

J.P. Morgan

This is the second week I work in J.P. Morgan.
It is really a shocking experiance becasue you suudenly discover that there are so many brillient people there are outside CUHK.
I am in the team of corporate communicaiton and marketing under investment bank.
I do not notice that the department is under IB until I work there for a day or two.There are tow interns in the team. One is global business from HKUST and the other one is me. It is very surprising to find out that except me, all other shortlisted applicants are from HKUST.(HKUST is really our major competitior in the territory)

I am under two supervisors, who are good and willing to delegate responsibility to me.
One is VP of Philianthrophy,another is Marketing Communications.
At the first few days, I was doing clerik work and librarian, who tidy up the magazine.
Later, I start to involve more in depth into the business operation.

Most of the team are AMC,foreigners, or immigrants from other countires. This means you will need to use English most of the time. And this is the shocking thing to me.

I used to think my English is OK.
It is the first time for me to listen to a conference but I can't understand.
It is the first time I realize I can't express what I want to say.
It is the first time I know why investment bank prefer foreign graduates.
English level matters.

Many people complain about the language ability of HK graduates.
That is not untrue, I realize, when I join J.P. Morgan.
I hope my year in the Netherlands will be rewardful to my study.
